TOYOTA RECALLS NEARLY 700,000 VEHICLES DUE TO FUEL PUMPS
Toyota is recalling almost 700,000 Toyota and Lexus vehicles in the United States because of issues with the fuel pumps. The company says the pumps may stop operating, which can in turn lead to engine failure.
Toyota has said they are still investigating the issue. Owners will be notified by mail by mid-March when they are able to provide a solution.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE FUEL PUMP STOPS OPERATING?
“Warning lights and messages may be displayed on the instrument panel, and the engine may run rough. This can result in a vehicle stall, and the vehicle may be unable to be restarted. If a vehicle stall occurs while driving at higher speeds, this could increase the risk of a crash.” (Source: Toyota)
