Statutes that govern personal injury in Texas

Texas law sets clear rules for injury cases. Chapter 16 tells us you have two years to file your claim. Chapter 33 says how blame is shared when two people are at fault. These laws guide our plans to win your case.

How long you have to file in Texas

You have two years from the date you got hurt to file a lawsuit in Texas. If the injured person is under 18 or cannot file on their own, extra time may be allowed. Missing this deadline means losing your right to payment.

The jury found the Salina emergency room doctor to be negligent in her assessment of the minor upon presentation in the emergency room, failing to timely diagnose a rare spinal condition. The case was one of the largest verdicts in history in the State of Kansas.
Fraud Against Lender
$10.7 MILLIONPotts Law Firm represented a United States Bankruptcy Trustee. The case stemmed from the massive bankruptcy of Royce Homes, one of the largest homebuilders in the country.
