Texas Megabus Crash, 2 Dead, Several Injured

MEGABUS CRASH KILLS TWO AND INJURES SEVERAL IN NEW WAVERLY, TEXAS

A collision involving a Megabus.com charter and several other vehicles was reported in New Waverly, Texas, today around 2:30 p.m. on I-45 South and FM 1375 on the southbound side of the highway. It’s reported that the deadly collision, which occurred on the borders of Montgomery County and Walker County, lead to two deaths and two vehicle entrapments. There were approximately 75 passengers on the Megabus.com charter traveling from Dallas to Houston, and several were taken to the hospital for minor injuries after the incident.

According to Department of Public Safety troopers, a red Kia Sorento crossed into southbound lanes, striking a silver vehicle and forcing it to collide with the Megabus.com charter. DPS had received multiple reports regarding the Kia Sorento driver that was headed northbound on I-45 before the time of the incident.

According to reports, the Kia Sorento overturned upon impact with the silver vehicle, leading to the driver’s death. The 51-year-old woman from Alvin, Texas was struck in the silver automobile and airlifted to a local hospital before passing hours later.
