ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO – MOTORCYCLIST DIES IN PICKUP TRUCK ACCIDENT NEAR MENAUL BOULEVARD

Police were called to a fatal motorcycle accident in Albuquerque, New Mexico around 10 a.m. Monday morning. According to the Albuquerque Police Department, a motorcyclist driving a 2005 Kawasaki died after being struck by a 2006 Ford pickup on Menaul Blvd. near Edith Blvd. NE.

APD officer Simon Drobik stated:

“As it neared the intersection with Edith, a 2006 full-size Ford pickup being driven by a male adult was turning from northbound Edith to westbound Menaul. The motorcyclist attempted to brake and swerve but struck the rear of the pickup in the far-left lane.”

Albuquerque Police Department said that, despite wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, the motorcycle victim who was later identified as Quwali Foster died after being rushed to the University of New Mexico Hospital.

Mr. Drobik said the initial investigation did not show signs of excessive speeds or alcohol consumption, and the pickup truck driver is not currently facing charges or a citation.
